Somehow this morning on the way to school, mom got on the topic of her Christmas party last Friday. All of her work friends were there. Then she started bitching at me about it. Of course I was like

1) How did this conversation even happen?
2) How is it my fault that your guests were rude?

"You should have mingled with my friends!"

Look here: they avoided me so, naturally, I got out of their way. I smiled and greeted most of them and tried to be genuinely pleasant but all I got in response was, "Ahaha, no" body language and unenthusiastic, "Uh huh... yeah..." responses.

Bianca and I sat down with food at the dinner table where a couple was already sitting. We got that obvious, "Well crap" face with their noses scrunched up. We were sitting at the opposite end of them, ffs. There were even four other chairs available for other people but instead I felt and saw other people lingering around the table with plates full of food, eying the table like some holy grail. They were practically breathing down our necks. I suggested to Bianca that we should go ahead and move downstairs to the basement. As soon as we stood up out of our chairs, the neck-breathers swooped in immediately to sit down. Um, rude. We were just eating and talking quietly but apparently we still stink of our mothers' milk and our ~young presence is sooo offensive.

We were in the basement for only five minutes when two mothers with their kids started down the stairs. The kids ran down the stairs and bolted to the ping-pong table while their mothers lingered on the stairs. They stood there for ten minutes. Bianca and I got up to refill our plates and go to the door to let Will in. When we passed the ladies in the stairs, they, again, dived into the basement now that we were gone. We brought Will downstairs along with our once again food-filled plates and, you guessed it, the ladies left immediately and took their kids with them.

I just don't get it. I was wearing a ~fancy outfit and Bianca had her hair done up nicely. We didn't do anything. We were nice. For what stupid reason were we treated this way? Are we still in elementary school? "Eww, kids who are younger than us, stay away!"

I tried to explain this to mom in a calm fashion but she bitched about me some more in that stupid kind of way. "If that's your perspective, it must be right. My friends are terrible, terrible people and so I won't ever invite them over again. Go back and hole up in your room, no one likes you, anyway."

"Go hole up in your room!" "Get out of your room, for once!" "No one likes you, go to your room!" "Why don't you ever come out of your room?" "Since you looooove staying in your room, stay there. No one will miss you." "I miss, you Julie. Come downstairs every once in a while!"

lol okay.

On a completely different topic, I have my Spanish final in less than two hours. I'm going back to studying now that I've gotten this post out of my system. I don't feel completely ready because my teacher is awful at explaining grammar and so is our textbook, so I've had to pick up the pieces and fill in the gaps myself. Despite that, I don't feel particularly worried. Things will go just fine. My classmates are pulling their hair out but I think they'll do a lot better than they're expecting.

You know what I totally sensed that too! Your mom's friends really didn't want us around! I was like what the fuck?! If anything they were rude! Not to mention I worked really hard on my hair!! hmph!!

But in all seriousness your mom had no right to get mad. And I'm really sorry for contributing in her doing so. I just really missed hanging with you and Will and wanted to spend some quality time with you guys. :(

lolwhut no, you're not at all to blame. She's always kind of crazy, don't worry about it. Her mom was crazy batty but she's like "I'M NOT LIKE THAT NOPE" while everyone else is like "Uh, yeah, you are." Best just let her have her tantrums.

I MISSED YOU GUYS A LOT. :C If I had the chance to experience that night again, I wouldn't have done anything different!
